I often find myself stuck meditating on a specific song for an extended period of time. Yolanda Adams’ “I’m Gonna Be Ready” is my current selection.
This song speaks to my heart in so many ways. A petition to God that as I pray that you lead me so that I move forward in obedience without any guilt or shame of my choices. That you walk in faith, relying on not what you see but of the promises of God. Then, asking that God prepares you for what’s best for you. That part is critical, when you are not asking for what you think you want or what you believe but that of which God knows is best for you!
And while I walk in this Faith and bask in this Mercy and especially Grace, I do not look back and waste time on “what ifs” and “how comes”, instead testify all along the way. Not just when it’s all good but also when things seem to be out of control, and when you have seemingly lost everything! Worship Him at all times!
Yolanda sing “Use me as you will”, is that your prayer? It is mine! I want to know how I can be of good use and I want God to know that whatever he says “I’m Gonna Be Ready”
Check out some of the lyrics below! What song is on your heart on heavy rotation?
” I say a prayer every night
Whatever I do, I’ll get it right
With no regret, no guilt or shame this time (no not this time)
Once I surrender, I won’t dare look back
‘Cause if I do, I’ll get off track
Move ahead in faith
And patiently await your answer
What will it be
Sight beyond what I see
You know what’s best for me
Prepare my mind, prepare my heart
For whatever comes, I’m gone’ be ready
Strength to pass any test
I feel like I’m so blessed
With you in control, I can’t go wrong
‘Cause I always know
I’m gonna be ready”
Great reminder. Too often we live as though this life we have on earth is the end. Nothing can be further from the truth. So will we be ready for the “next” thing God has for us. I’ve got to be ready. I look forward to what’s to come.
Great
