Ever Changing Tides

Many years ago I listened in as a preacher shared that throughout life we will often find ourselves in 1 of 3 seasons; heading into a “storm”, in the midst of a “storm”, or coming out of a “storm”.
I’m here to attest that statement to be absolute truth!
As soon as I begin to see the clouds of a storm I’ve been in start to fade away, off in the far corner, I can see some even darker ones on the horizon (figuratively not literally).
There’s some important takeaways that I’ve learned having endured many storms and those are:
1. Not every storm is meant to break or destroy you, in fact, most are meant to do just the opposite.
2. If it’s a particularly bad storm, there may be a period of time that you may find yourself in the darkness, that is the opportunity to be still and seek clarity and direction.
3. Hopefully you learn something from storms of the past so that when you see a similar one brewing you can prepare and get through it a little better than before.
4. Be cognizant of those who are there during the storm.

There will be times we find ourselves coming out of one storm while being in the midst of another and our faith is tested and we’re discouraged but we have to stop telling God about these storms and start telling these storms about our God! God already knows every storm to come our way, and he already knows the end result, so what are we telling him for?

Let’s start speaking victory over storms from the beginning.

As for me; I declare victory over every illness, ailment and other physical restraints my family and friends are experiencing.

I declare victory over every financial, emotional and time limitation.

I declare victory over this country and all others as we struggle for inclusiveness, unity and basic human rights!

We have to pray my loves! I know I say it all the time but it is so important that we spend some time petitioning to God, not just for ourselves but for each other as well.
