Philippians 4:6 (NKJV)
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God
This scripture in Philippians is one of my favorite scriptures as it reminds me that we are to be thankful and not anxious!
That when life is leading us down unpredictable paths, that we are still to be thankful and not anxious.
Someone may receive news that the contract renewal at their job is still up in the air or they’re still awaiting admittance offers for their children’s future, or received a call that their loved one is hospitalized or that their routine doctor visit has become a bit more complex and they need to come in to discuss additional testing BUT through it all, we are to be thankful and not anxious!
I have decided that I will be obedient to this scripture in Philippians as it saves me angst, worry and stress when it’s ALL in God’s hands! I am consciously being thankful and not anxious!
What about when there is physical or emotional pain? How can one focus on reasons to be thankful when they are in despair? Well, to that I will remind you that pain is not forever and how can we truly appreciate joy without pain? Pain grows us, it strengthens us and when we come out of it, it shows the Favor that was bestowed upon us! Trouble does not last always and neither should anxiousness when you can be thankful!
When I am feeling anxious, I pray because I know there is Power in the name of Jesus! I put all my troubles in the hands of God and busy myself continuing to do the great work He has instilled in me.
I implore you to leave your troubles in the hands of God and get some sleep!
So Right..God has it all. There is strength in his love, mercy and grace.
