In All Your Ways…

Proverbs 3:5-6  (NIV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.

A short passage with conviction to be obedient to the plans God has for you.
Chocolate & I had a weekend long conversation a few weeks ago laying out some plans for us as a couple including the long awaited IVF process.
See, the devil knows just what to dangle in front of us and will use his tricks and schemes to try to distract and entice us to lead you down the path of temptations but we are not to be distracted!
That takes some discipline.. great, great discipline.
I had an opportunity come up in the last few weeks that was to be quite lucrative, an offer that normally I would have leaped at  but my promise to God was to be obedient, and to hold tight to my promise to allow him to lead & direct my paths.
I knew that if I took this opportunity then it was possible that the plans that Chocolate & I had made would be pushed to the back burner as I dived into this new position and ensured that it was successful. I have to give everything I take on 100% or more, that’s just how I roll so I knew I could not take the position without being willing to give it my everything.
Just as I had to begun to fret over the decision I needed to make in my career, I was immediately calmed by the assurance that all of my steps have already been ordered! God reminded me of the plans that my husband and I had made and prayed over.
When Chocolate called me to talk over the pros/cons of the decision that was to be made, I kindly told God had reminded me of the plans we have set forth and so I knew what I needed to do, and he replied “well alright”.
That’s what’s to love about him, he never challenges what God is calling on us to do.
Whether it’s a direct message to him or to him via me, he trusts in God’s plans just as much as I do.
