Love & Marriage- Week 1

Not only is February the month of my birth, it is also Black History month! I thought it would be awesome to celebrate black history in the making- love & marriage edition!

I have been and am currently blessed to be surrounded by amazing couples that I chose to highlight for the first couple weeks of the month leading up to my birthday!

My cousin who is more like a sister and her husband are an awesome couple who have journeyed through everything sent to destroy them. Coming from two different backgrounds can often be a recipe for disaster but through open communication and a willingness to learn from each other, they are thriving! A real joy to share in love & marriage with them!
I knew the mister in this relationship first( he is a childhood friend of Chocolate) and absolutely could not stand him but when I met her (my boo) and witnessed them together, I saw a completely different guy. Their relationship is a true testament to a man will change for the woman he loves! She is my Shero cause I just knew I would end up doing a bid behind her husband..lol
My brother (twin) and my sister are awesome! Their desire to keep building and growing in their marriage and achieving their individual goals collectively is admirable! My niece & nephews are so blessed to have them as role models.
My Aquarius sister is such a beautiful soul so it’s only fitting that she has a great husband! They keep each other and us laughing as they love to have fun and just enjoy life. She and I chat almost every morning covering everything from current events to the “darndest things” kids say!
My sweet angels. I have to pay homage to them as they embodied all things outlined in 1st Corinthians. May they continue to rest in peace!
My bestie and I have been together experiencing all of life’s highs and lows together since we were about 15 years old! I could not have chosen a better man to be her husband. She brings out the protector and provider in him and he brings out the nurturer and helpmate in her.

You all have seen Jen’s story in her fight with breast cancer but that what you have not seen or heard is the way he caters to my babe, it will make anyone’s heart smile. I believe that when she was kicking breast cancer’s butt if he could have taken the cancer away from her and given it to himself, he would have. I love the simplicity of their marriage, they can either be content doing nothing or get up and drive to Philly for a cheesesteak!
