Love & Faith

Victorious

V is a phenomenal woman, wife, mother, and boss! She has silenced many naysayers as she has prevailed where others have quit or settled in complacency with the cards life dealt without reshuffling the deck.

Becoming a young, single mother, she did not allow that to deter the plans for her future, instead, having a baby boy that now depended on her further inspired her desire to be successful. V graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Management from Albertus Magnus College before attending GW receiving her Masters’ Degree in Event Management. #Badass

V has held several positions and titles over the years but one of her very first titles is one that she holds near & dear to her heart “daddy’s girl!”

V loves people easily and people love V! She is a naturally happy person that looks for the best in others and spreads love & light wherever she goes. Her light shines bright in the lives of everyone whose life she is a part of, but there’s a special person who her light shines the brightest for; her daddy!

In March of 2017, when V and family learned that her dad was in stage 4 kidney failure as a result of diabetes and high blood pressure. The initial hope was that he would be able to continue to function with a strict diet and prescription regime however that would not be.

The news that he needs a kidney transplant to survive was hard to hear and yet V was not without hope! Initially she was told due to the difference in blood types she would not be a match, which was very disheartening. They started to look for the ideal candidate in family and associates when they received promising news, V was the ideal candidate after all!

From then forth V was determined to give her dad a kidney and I was determined to keep her encouraged through the journey of donating life back to one who helped create hers.

Victoria & her husband Dennis are like most families in current times relying on dual incomes. Among other bills they have a substantial mortgage and childcare for both their 3-year-old & 6-year-old.

Her friend Lori and I created a GoFundme account that did not net the desired results we wanted, while V searched for a new career that did not net a lot of results.

Transplant day was all set for 02/27/19 and after arriving into Florida with her support team consisting of her FIONE husband (as she describes him) and her mom, they were met with the devastating news that the surgery had to be rescheduled due to newly discovered complications with her father.

Frustrations were mounting but the end goal remained the same- #operationdonatelife

It is my belief that God was teaching us all to stop looking for the answer ourselves, instead turn all things over to him.

He was specifically showing V that there is no need to look to the left nor her right for the answers to her problems and do not dare look down, instead just look up! All of our help comes from above! He showed her that he is not just promise to supply one need, He will supply ALL her needs!

He provided a job that was flexible in scheduling as she prepared for surgery.

He supplied the family with additional funds for the duration that she would be off work, he supplied her father and herself with a clean bill of health to proceed with the surgery on 4/25/19.

He supplied her dad with an angel right her on earth who was able to gift him a kidney.

One final need was supplied while she laid in the bed in recovery, a new career opportunity at American Diabetes Association! Our God is Faithful!

How awesome is it to love someone so much that you say here is my body, a living vessel that I will break for you!

How awesome is it to love someone so much that you say here is my body, a living vessel that I will break for you! That’s Agape Love! ❤

The bravery that she showed through all the pre-op visits especially when she shared how one of the doctors explained that she would stop breathing for about 2 minutes during the surgery would have made some people change their minds but not my V.

She remained who she has always been, a Superwoman! A real life SheRo! And my #WCE

I am thankful to God that he thought enough of me to bring her into my life. She remained a consistent source of strength, calmness and light even as she endured the journey to the operating table.
